The Chicago Blackhawks squared off against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night. While Canes entered the season as the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Hawks seem destined for another lottery pick.
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on Saturday night. Roman Kantserov scored his first career NHL goal on a breakaway for Chicago, while Oliver Moore added the Blackhawks' second tally. Carolina built a dominant lead behind goals from Mark Jankowski, Sebastian Aho, Jackson Blake, Taylor Hall, and Jordan Martinook against Chicago goaltender Spencer Knight.
The Rink criticized Chicago's ongoing defensive struggles and lack of offensive depth in the absence of injured star Connor Bedard. The writer argued that head coach Jeff Blashill and general manager Kyle Davidson are under mounting pressure to make the Blackhawks competitive before the season slips away.
