Manchester United face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League with Swedish referee Glenn Nyberg appointed, under whom both teams have poor records.

UEFA has confirmed that Swedish official Glenn Nyberg will referee Manchester United's Champions League match against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, October 13, at the Metropolitano Stadium. Nyberg will be supported by assistants Mahbod Beigi and Andreas Soderkvist, fourth official Kristoffer Karlsson, and VAR Pol van Boekel.
Manchester United are winless in three previous matches officiated by Nyberg, which includes a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich and a 2-2 draw with Lyon. Meanwhile, Spanish side Atletico Madrid have also never won a fixture overseen by the Swedish referee.
