Red Bull Racing team principal Laurent Mekies has responded cautiously to George Russell's claim that Red Bull is now the team to beat. Following a dominant three-race stretch across Azerbaijan, Bahrain, and Singapore, Max Verstappen took two Grand Prix victories and a sprint win. Mekies acknowledged the RB22's strong pace across varying layouts, but he warned that recent results do not permanently define the grid's competitive pecking order.
Red Bull has completed its upgrade program for the season, leaving the team vulnerable to rivals who introduce further technical developments. Verstappen has moved to fourth in the drivers' championship, just 17 points behind Russell in second, while Red Bull sits seven points behind McLaren in the constructors' battle for third.
