  • Jon Rahm is leaving LIV Golf after three seasons following disagreements over restructured LIV 2.0 terms.

  • The golfer faces a mandatory one-year suspension if he chooses to return to the PGA Tour.
The Story in 60 Seconds

Jon Rahm is leaving the LIV Golf League after three seasons following his decision to reject the proposed terms of the circuit's restructuring. According to his attorney, John Beck, Rahm determined the LIV 2.0 terms were unacceptable, and both parties are working toward a separation agreement. The move comes as LIV Golf undergoes bankruptcy proceedings in the United States after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund withdrew financial backing.

A return to the PGA Tour presents challenges, as Rahm would face a mandatory one-year suspension after previously turning down a reinstatement program. However, Rahm resolved his dispute with the DP World Tour by paying £2.21 million in fines in May, keeping him eligible for the Ryder Cup and upcoming European events.
