Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar will be sidelined for at least one month after suffering a stress fracture to his little toe in training, coach Gian Piero Gasperini confirmed in a press conference. The injury rules the shot-stopper out of several key fixtures, starting with Roma's upcoming Serie A clash against Como.
Medical staff are currently deciding whether to surgically insert a screw to stabilize the fracture, which could allow Svilar to return following the next international break. In his absence, 31-year-old backup goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini is expected to step into the starting lineup.
