The Chicago Bears announced they will wear a helmet decal honoring Hall of Fame tight end and former head coach Mike Ditka during their game against the Green Bay Packers. The decal features a white number 89 outlined in orange on navy, commemorating Ditka following his death at age 86.
Ditka won an NFL championship as a Bears player in 1963 and coached the team to a Super Bowl XX victory in 1985. The franchise, which retired his number in 2013, stated that further tributes will occur during their next home game.
