Washington Nationals prospect Jarlin Susana has impressed in the Arizona Fall League after missing most of the season recovering from lat surgery. Over his first two outings, the right-hander struck out eight batters and walked two across 5.2 innings, earning AFL Pitcher of the Week honors. Susana also set an AFL record by throwing a pitch at 103.8 mph.
Writer Sam Sallick highlights Susana's ability to sit between 101-103 mph with both a four-seamer and a sinker, complemented by a high-spin slider. Sallick believes Susana will become an effective major league pitcher, comparing him to Dodgers reliever Edgardo Henriquez while noting that a starting role remains possible if his strike-throwing and pitch repertoire continue to develop.
