Sam Reinhart’s power-play heroics weren't enough to overcome defensive lapses in Buffalo as the Panthers dropped their second straight, evening their record ahead of Tuesday’s clash in Columbus.

The Florida Panthers suffered a 5-3 defeat against the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center on Monday afternoon, marking their second consecutive regulation loss. Despite falling behind four separate times, the Panthers repeatedly tied the contest before Buffalo secured the victory with two third-period goals, including an insurance tally by Tage Thompson.
Sam Reinhart scored two power-play goals for Florida, while Anton Lundell also found the net. Both teams switched goaltenders during the contest, with Akira Schmid replacing Jacob Markstrom for Florida and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen taking over for Buffalo's Colton Ellis. The loss moved Florida's record to 2-2-2.
