The New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks were each on the wrong end of a late goal-scoring flurry in their previous games. Only the Canucks are worried this already has become a trend.
The New York Islanders and Vancouver Canucks both enter Tuesday's matchup in Elmont, New York, looking to rebound from recent late-game collapses. The Islanders suffered a 5-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday after Brandon Hagel scored two late goals, while the Canucks fell 6-2 to the New York Rangers on Sunday.
Vancouver has struggled significantly on its six-game Eastern Conference road trip, losing the first three contests while being outscored 17-5. Meanwhile, the Islanders have dealt with slow starts alongside their late-game woes, falling behind by two goals in each of their three losses this season.
