Sometimes a head coach has to go with his head and his heart and his feel for the game and dismiss what it says on a spreadsheet.

Head coach John Harbaugh defended his late-game strategy following a 27-27 overtime tie against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Despite conventional analytic models encouraging a two-point conversion attempt to secure a regulation victory, Harbaugh opted to kick extra points on consecutive fourth-quarter touchdowns to intentionally push the contest into overtime. Harbaugh stated that he preferred not to gamble on two-point conversions and felt targeting overtime offered the team its best path, noting a road divisional tie was acceptable.
Harbaugh also addressed several roster situations following the contest, confirming that injured players Jermaine Eluemunor, Tyler Nubin, and Colton Hood are considered day-to-day ahead of their matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Additionally, Bryan Hudson will retain his role as the starting center over John Michael Schmitz Jr. for the upcoming week, while offensive tackle Andrew Thomas was awarded the team's weekly recovery honor after returning from a groin injury.
