Southampton fans will be over the moon that their beloved side managed to win the South Coast Derby. But, they need to correct their dismal away record to try and jump up the Championship even more.

Writer Kelan Sarson argues that Southampton must resolve their poor away form if they want to contend for automatic promotion. Following a 1-0 South Coast Derby victory over Portsmouth, Tonda Eckert's side maintained a perfect home record with five wins from five at St Mary's. However, the club has taken only two points from four away matches this season.
Sarson highlights that Southampton started the campaign with a four-point deduction related to Spygate. Defeats against Watford and Wrexham, coupled with draws against Lincoln City and Birmingham City, show that the Saints cannot rely solely on home success ahead of tough road fixtures against Norwich City and West Ham United.
