St Johnstone defender Matty Foulds stressed the importance of keeping up standards in training after coming in from the cold to help the Perth side to a 1-0 win at Aberdeen.
St Johnstone defender Matty Foulds credited high standards in training for his successful return to the team in a 1-0 win at Aberdeen. Making his first appearance in two months, the 28-year-old helped the Perth side secure their first clean sheet of the William Hill Premiership season. Foulds stepped into a makeshift back three alongside Dan Finlayson and Liam Smith due to personnel shortages.
With Cheick Diabate suspended and Zach Mitchell sidelined by a severe knee injury, manager Simo Valakari praised the unit's defensive effort. Valakari commended the squad's collective work ethic and singled out Foulds as a prime example of staying prepared to contribute when called upon.
