Braves News: Jurickson Profar’s future, early free agency plans, William Contreras regret

The Atlanta Braves are addressing several offseason matters following general manager Alex Anthopoulos' end-of-year media session. The front office will soon hold internal discussions regarding the future of Jurickson Profar, whose status remains undecided after missing significant time due to PED suspensions. Additionally, Atlanta intends to utilize its exclusive five-day negotiating window following the World Series to attempt re-signing impending free agents Mauricio Dubon and Tyler Mahle.

The article also reflects on past roster moves, calling the three-team trade that sent catcher William Contreras to the Milwaukee Brewers a lingering regret. With Contreras thriving during the postseason, the decision to part with him in exchange for Sean Murphy continues to draw scrutiny as Atlanta plans for the 2027 season.
