Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy praised the team's young wide receivers for stepping up during Sunday's victory against the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers were shorthanded after Ben Skowronek suffered a calf injury and Roman Wilson sustained a hand injury during the game, leaving both sidelined for the entire second half.
With Michael Pittman Jr. already on injured reserve, Germie Bernard recorded six receptions for 80 yards in his first career start. McCarthy and quarterback Aaron Rodgers also commended receiver Brandon Smith for adapting quickly and capitalizing on increased offensive snaps.
