The German Women's National Team faces Australia in Karlsruhe, Germany, kicking off a slate of two international friendlies under head coach Christian Wück. Germany's squad enters the match reduced to 22 players following numerous injuries and withdrawals, ahead of a subsequent friendly fixture against Japan scheduled for October 13.
Key absences include captain Giulia Gwinn due to a ligament injury, alongside Larissa Mühlhaus, Bibiane Schulze Solano, Selina Cerci, and rested goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger. In response to the roster depleted by injuries, Wück added Luzie Zähringer, Sarai Linder, and Nicole Anyomi to the squad.
