Australian goalkeeper Sonny Inzalaco has been identified as the trialist recently spotted taking part in Celtic training sessions. The 18-year-old currently plays for Australian third-tier side Perth RedStar and has represented Australia at both under-18 and under-20 levels. Due to his ancestry, he is eligible for a UK passport, which avoids potential work permit restrictions.
Manager Martin O'Neill dismissed suggestions that Inzalaco is being brought in to challenge first-choice goalkeepers Sam Johnstone and Viljami Sinisalo. Inzalaco previously had an extended trial with Blackburn Rovers and has reportedly drawn attention from Wrexham, Charlton Athletic, and Bolton Wanderers.
