Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery has confirmed that Matteo Ruggeri will be sidelined for more than one month due to a hamstring injury. The defender suffered the setback during Villa's 2-2 Premier League draw against Brentford. Emery announced the news during a pre-match press conference on Tuesday ahead of their upcoming Champions League fixture against Fenerbahce.
The injury rules Ruggeri out of Roberto Mancini's upcoming Italy squad for the international break starting November 9. The former Atalanta wing-back had recently established himself in Villa's starting lineup and earned his first international cap during Italy's 4-1 win over Turkey on September 28.
