Right-hander Derek Law has elected free agency, according to the MiLB.com transaction log, ending his brief time in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
Veteran right-handed reliever Derek Law has elected free agency after ending his brief tenure with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 36-year-old was outrighted to Triple-A Reno on September 18 after being designated for assignment, and he exercised his right as a veteran player to decline the assignment and enter the open market.
Law joined Arizona on a minor-league deal in late January while recovering from flexor tendon surgery. He posted a 1.00 ERA across seven appearances and 9.0 innings for the Diamondbacks following his August 29 promotion.
