Mhatre sustained the injury while batting on the opening day against Chandigarh
Mumbai opener and vice-captain Ayush Mhatre is set to miss at least six weeks of cricket after suffering a suspected Grade 4 tear in his right hamstring. The 19-year-old sustained the injury while running between the wickets on the opening day of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy match against Chandigarh at the Wankhede Stadium.
Mumbai Cricket Association president Ajinkya Naik confirmed that Mhatre's recovery timeline will depend on discussions between team medics and the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. The setback follows a previous left hamstring injury suffered while playing for Chennai Super Kings, which had previously sidelined him for three months.
