Man Utd are planning a defensive overhaul next summer and if they need a replacement for Lisandro Martinez then there is an obvious target.

Manchester Evening News writer Tyrone Marshall argues that Manchester United can scout Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Micky van de Ven as a potential replacement for Lisandro Martinez this weekend. With Martinez out of contract at the end of the season alongside Harry Maguire, United face key defensive decisions under manager Michael Carrick, especially given Martinez's recurring injury issues across his four years at the club.
Marshall suggests the 25-year-old Dutch defender would offer an ideal left-footed alternative due to his exceptional pace and ball-carrying ability. Although Van de Ven recently signed a long-term contract with Tottenham, Marshall notes he continues to be linked with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool.
