Mason McTavish Has Nailed His First Impression in St. Louis

The Lead argues that Mason McTavish has made a strong first impression with the St. Louis Blues following his offseason acquisition. Traded at the 2026 NHL Draft for picks No. 15 and 29, McTavish recorded two goals and two assists in his first five games. He has developed fast chemistry on the second line alongside Connor McMichael, scoring just 94 seconds into his Blues debut against Dallas.

Advanced analytics indicate McTavish leads the Blues in expected goals per 60 minutes and points per 60, while posting a 58% Corsi percentage. The Lead notes McTavish is displaying an improved defensive game compared to his tenure with Anaheim, helping address the Blues' long-standing need for secondary scoring depth.
