Anthony Davis’ Wizards Get LeBron James Honest Thoughts About New Season

Philadelphia 76ers forward LeBron James shared his perspective on former teammate Anthony Davis and the Washington Wizards ahead of the 2026-2027 season. Speaking on the Mind the Game podcast with Steve Nash, James noted that Washington fast-tracked its roster overhaul and put itself in position to potentially surprise the league by pairing Davis with Trae Young and top rookie AJ Dybantsa.

Washington heavily reshaped its rotation around Davis and Young by acquiring Deandre Ayton, Khris Middleton, and Tre Mann. Davis also expressed excitement about shifting back to power forward alongside center additions Ayton and Alex Sarr, noting the arrangement allows him to roam more defensively as the Wizards prepare for their season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks on October 21.
