The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Nick Lardis to their AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs. The 21-year-old opened the season with Chicago, tallying two assists across six games prior to the reassignment announced Tuesday afternoon.
While the team did not state an official reason, the transaction coincides with Connor Bedard's expected season debut against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Lardis, an AHL All-Star last year with 32 points in 35 games for Rockford, could play as early as Friday against the Iowa Wild.
