The Yankees Need a Philosophy Change

The Lead argues that the New York Yankees must overhaul their organizational philosophy after suffering another disappointing postseason exit, most recently losing in the ALDS to the Tampa Bay Rays. Despite posting 93 regular-season wins under manager Aaron Boone, the team struggled severely in the playoffs, committing four errors and recording franchise-worst offensive marks in a multi-game postseason series.

The writer attributes the recurring failures to front-office complacency under general manager Brian Cashman, an undisciplined roster construction relying on all-or-nothing hitters, and an overly protective clubhouse culture. With Aaron Judge calling on ownership to address roster holes and go all-in, the outlet stresses that Hal Steinbrenner must establish a tougher standard to avoid squandering the prime years of Judge and Gerrit Cole.
