Oklahoma City Thunder rookie guard Otega Oweh suffered a non-contact leg injury during the team's 114-112 overtime preseason victory against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. With 3:58 remaining in overtime, the 23-year-old slipped while returning to position and was unable to place weight on his right foot. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault called a timeout as Oweh required assistance to leave the court and head into the locker room.
Before exiting the game, the 41st draft pick had contributed eight points and three rebounds off the bench. Although no official diagnosis or MRI results have been announced by the Thunder, the setback prompted widespread concern among fans and teammates. Oweh previously missed most of the Summer League due to a left ankle and foot issue.
