Buffalo Bills HC Joe Brady took the nicest possible route to issuing a warning to star RB James Cook for one key mistake that might lead to reduced touches.
Buffalo Bills head coach Joe Brady has issued a warning to running back James Cook regarding his persistent fumbling issues, stating that Cook could see his carries decrease if the turnovers continue. The warning followed Buffalo's 37-34 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Rams, during which Cook lost a critical fumble in overtime before the Bills blocked a potential game-winning field goal.
While praising Cook's overall rushing performance, Brady emphasized that recurring ball-security mistakes are actively hurting the team. Cook has accumulated 532 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 95 carries this season, but has also recorded four fumbles, bringing his total to 11 since the start of last season.
