The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing safety Kaevon Merriweather to their 53-man roster after a promising showing against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed safety Kaevon Merriweather to their 53-man roster from the practice squad, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Merriweather was previously elevated for the team's Week 5 victory against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he contributed significantly to both the defensive unit and special teams.
Merriweather played 34 percent of defensive snaps and 44 percent of special teams snaps against Philadelphia following injuries to Caleb Ransaw and Eric Murray. Jacksonville must create a roster spot for the signing, with left tackle Anton Harrison being a candidate for injured reserve after facing arthroscopic knee surgery.
