Bronny James is set to enter his first season with the LA Lakers without his father, LeBron James, and will be looking to break into the starting five.

Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick stated that guard Bronny James has not played well across four preseason appearances following a 101-89 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Redick acknowledged that while James had a solid summer and good practices, his game performances have been underwhelming, with James averaging 2.7 points per game and going scoreless against Golden State.
Redick noted that external factors contributed to the struggles, explaining that James played heavy minutes with two-way players and recent additions like Rafael Castro. Redick also discussed expectations for guard Quentin Grimes, praising his high motor and fit alongside Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
