Kyle Palmieri scored twice, including the game-winning goal, to lead the New York Islanders to a 3-2 victory against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday at UBS Arena. The performance marked Palmieri's first goals of the season and his first since November 18, 2025, following a 10-and-a-half-month recovery from a torn ACL.
Matias Maccelli also scored his first goal as an Islander and set up Palmieri's third-period winner, while Matt Kessel earned an assist in his team debut. Max Sasson and Brock Boeser scored for Vancouver to tie the game before Palmieri secured the win.
