New York Mets owner Steve Cohen attended Game 2 of the ALCS between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians. The appearance fueled speculation about a potential reunion with Rays starting pitcher Freddy Peralta, who pitched six shutout innings in Tampa Bay's 3-1 victory and was reportedly confused to learn Cohen was in attendance.

Tim Boyle of Rising Apple argues that while Cohen's presence has sparked free agency reunion rumors, pursuing Peralta again might be foolhardy for the Mets given his past struggles in New York. Boyle also notes Cohen may have simply been attending as a fan or scouting potential front office hires.
