The Boston Red Sox decided not to bring top prospect Franklin Arias into the fold down the stretch. That looks like the right move.

BoSox Injection writer Hunter Noll argues that the Boston Red Sox made the correct decision by keeping top shortstop prospect Franklin Arias in Triple-A through the end of the 2026 season. Despite Boston's severe offensive struggles and key injuries in September, Noll contends that promoting the 20-year-old would not have altered the club's playoff outcome against the New York Yankees.
Arias enjoyed a stellar minor-league campaign, batting .323 with 25 home runs across Double-A and Triple-A. However, Noll believes leaving Arias in the minors protected his development, preserved his service time, and prevented undue fan pressure during an eventual sweep by the Yankees.
