NASCAR will use a 3.5-inch rear spoiler at Talladega, down from 4 inches, in a new superspeedway package adjustment for the October 2026 race

NASCAR has announced an adjustment to its superspeedway rules package ahead of the October 25 Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. The package largely carries over the setup used at Daytona in August, but it reduces the rear spoiler blade from 4 inches to 3.5 inches. The 465-horsepower engine package will remain in place to increase maneuverability and passing opportunities.
In addition to the spoiler adjustment, NASCAR revised the stage lengths for the 188-lap race to Lap 98 and Lap 143. Former Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurray welcomed the aerodynamic changes, noting that Talladega's wider track could provide drivers with more room to make passes while aiming to minimize fuel-saving strategies.
