Tottenham Hotspur have joined Brighton in the race to sign Benfica's 18-year-old right-back Daniel Banjaqui to provide cover for Pedro Porro. According to a report by 4-4-2, Spurs are seeking defensive reinforcements in the January transfer window following Djed Spence's summer departure and Porro's injury issues.
Banjaqui, who has made six senior appearances for Benfica and features for Portugal's under-21 side, holds a €45m (£38m) release clause. However, Benfica would reportedly consider a permanent transfer sale for €35m (£30m) amid monitoring from European clubs including Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.
