Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Brett Bateman announced on the "6ix Inning Stretch" podcast that he will spend part of his winter training and rehabbing in Dunedin, Florida. The 24-year-old plans to address lingering hip, knee, and wrist ailments ahead of a potential MLB lockout when the collective bargaining agreement expires on Dec. 1. Bateman batted .329 across 41 games for Toronto after being acquired from the Chicago Cubs on Aug. 2 in exchange for pitcher Kevin Gausman.
Meanwhile, rumors of a potential Gausman reunion with Toronto appear unlikely despite the pending free agent expressing love for the city. According to MLB.com's Keegan Matheson, the Blue Jays tend to move on from older players early and are prioritizing power bats and younger starting pitching options over the veteran right-hander.
