Jameis Winston played four seasons with the New Orleans Saints, first as a backup to Drew Brees, then as Brees' immediate successor. But he only started 10 of the 21 games for the Saints between 2020-23 because of Brees' presence…
New York Giants starting quarterback Jameis Winston is set to face his former team, the New Orleans Saints, on Sunday afternoon. Winston took over the starting role after rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2. He holds a 2-0-1 record as a starter this season, most recently leading the Giants back from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to earn a 27-27 tie against Washington.
The visiting Saints enter the matchup with a 1-4 record after dropping three consecutive home games, leading owner Gayle Benson to publicly criticize the team's performance. Head coach Kellen Moore and quarterback Tyler Shough are seeking to rebound despite eight turnovers across their last three contests.
