Following a winless 0-5-3 start to the 2026-27 NHL season, Philadelphia Flyers general manager Danny Briere is reportedly fielding calls from rival executives inquiring about potential trades. TSN's Pierre LeBrun noted significant league interest, while Daily Faceoff insider Anthony Di Marco reported that the organization could potentially explore asking star winger Travis Konecny to waive his no-movement clause amid growing frustration over the team's struggles.
Writer William James strongly doubts a permanent trade involving Konecny will materialize, noting the forward is in only the second year of an eight-year, $70 million contract. While insider Elliotte Friedman reported the Flyers may wait to see if the team can recover before dealing veterans, James argues that trading Konecny makes little sense given his team leadership and full no-movement protection.
