Tottenham could consider move for Real Madrid star who made over 200 appearances for Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger and could consider a move for him on a free transfer next summer, according to a report from Football Insider. Spurs previously showed interest in the 33-year-old Germany international, whose contract expires at the end of the season, though a move to the Saudi Pro League is reportedly considered his most likely outcome.

Writer Rohan Sengupta argues that Tottenham should avoid signing Rudiger despite their defensive struggles under manager Roberto De Zerbi. Sengupta contends that Rudiger is past his prime, increasingly prone to injuries, and that the club should instead prioritize targeting younger central defenders to reinforce their backline.
