WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals will remain shorthanded as they take on the Montreal Canadiens in the second game of their back-to-back, and have a "bunch" of other lineup decisions to sort out, too.

The Washington Capitals will remain without Pierre-Luc Dubois and Matt Roy as they face the Montreal Canadiens in a back-to-back matchup. Head coach Spencer Carbery confirmed that Dubois will miss his third consecutive game due to an illness, while Roy remains sidelined for his fifth straight game with a lower-body injury. Both players are considered day-to-day by the coaching staff.
Goaltender Charlie Lindgren will get the start in net, with the Capitals considering additional lineup adjustments to address recent struggles. Coach Carbery emphasized that Washington's primary focus against Montreal must be on discipline, work ethic, and winning battles rather than trying to force perfect offensive plays.
