The Buffalo Sabres might have a future contributor currently plying his craft in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia. His name is Prokhor Poltapov. Poltapov probably isn’t a known name to casual Sabres fans, but the diehards will know about…
Buffalo Sabres prospect Prokhor Poltapov has delivered an impressive start to the Kontinental Hockey League season with CSKA Moscow. The 23-year-old left wing has recorded eight goals and four assists in his first 15 games, recently netting a power-play goal in a 1-0 victory over Dynamo Moscow to extend his goal streak to four consecutive games.
Selected by Buffalo with the 33rd overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, Poltapov's North American rights remain held indefinitely by the Sabres while he plays in Russia. Following consecutive 40-point campaigns, his strong form continues as he attempts to lead CSKA to another championship.
