Lewis Hamilton believes even more F1 grands prix could be run at night, growing from the current 25% of the calendar.

Lewis Hamilton has proposed that Formula 1 introduce more night races across the calendar, suggesting circuits could alternate between day and night running. Speaking during the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Hamilton highlighted how shifting races away from extreme daytime heat benefits fans and paddock personnel alike, specifically citing venues like Qatar and the upcoming Madrid race.
Hamilton recalled advising Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman during a blistering daytime test that the Sakhir circuit would look epic under lights, years before it switched permanently in 2014. Six races were initially scheduled under floodlights on the 2026 calendar, representing one-quarter of all scheduled Grands Prix.
