The Indianapolis Colts get a positve update surrounding $116 million wide receiver Alec Pierce entering Week 6

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has taken a step forward in his recovery by walking without a protective cast or boot on his injured ankle. Pierce landed on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury in Week 2, and the Colts chose rehabilitation over surgery. While the update marks clear physical progress, reports indicate he is not yet close to an immediate return to game action.
The earliest Pierce is eligible to return from injured reserve is Week 7 against the Minnesota Vikings. His pending return would provide a significant boost to head coach Shane Steichen's offense as quarterback Daniel Jones navigates a challenging start to the 2026 campaign.
