Former Manchester United defender James Overy discusses the contrasting coaching styles of Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick during his time at the club.

Former Manchester United youth player James Overy has shared his insights comparing the managerial styles of Ruben Amorim and Michael Carrick. Speaking on the Suited and Booted TV YouTube channel, the 18-year-old defender explained that Amorim's training sessions focused heavily on transitional running and wing-back involvement, whereas Carrick emphasized tactical possession and technical breakdown of opponents.
Overy joined Manchester United's academy in 2024 and made 26 youth appearances before departing the club in the summer to join Sydney FC. Although he never made a senior appearance, Overy frequently trained with the first team, allowing him to observe both coaches firsthand before his return to Australia.
