"It always could be worse. Just take it day by day."

New England Patriots starting left tackle Will Campbell returned to practice as a limited participant on Wednesday, providing positive news following a knee injury suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders. Campbell left Sunday's contest in the second quarter when running back Rhamondre Stevenson landed on his right knee. While initial reporting by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport indicated a knee sprain that could sideline him, Campbell dressed in full uniform for practice drills in Foxborough.
Campbell confirmed the injury is less severe than the torn MCL he suffered in the same knee last season. Although it remains uncertain if he will play against the New York Jets on Sunday, rookie Caleb Lomu is prepared to step in if needed, while tackle Marcus Bryant was designated to return from injured reserve.
