Gian Piero Gasperini hit out at Jose Mourinho, insisting Real Madrid ‘were outclassed’ by Roma…

Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini expressed immense regret after his side surrendered a 3-1 lead to lose 4-3 against Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico. Marten de Roon and Donyell Malen had put Roma in control, but Madrid scored three consecutive goals from corners between the 83rd and 90th minutes via Carlos Espi, Endrick, and Antonio Rudiger. Gasperini rejected opposing manager Jose Mourinho's claim that Roma were exhausted, insisting his team had outclassed Madrid until their defensive lapses.
In addition to Kylian Mbappe's earlier goal for Madrid, Roma suffered key injury blows during the defeat. Manu Kone departed in tears with a muscle strain after 17 minutes, while Paulo Dybala was substituted at halftime with a calf issue, leaving Roma with just one point from their opening two Champions League matches.
