What Unai Said: Emery on 6-0 Win Over Fenerbahçe, Underdog Spirit and Villa’s Improvement

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery reacted to his side's historic 6-0 Champions League victory against Fenerbahçe at Villa Park. The win marked Emery's largest margin of victory with Villa and the club's biggest European win, placing them joint top of the Champions League table after two matches. Johan Manzambi opened the scoring, Nicolas Jackson and Ross Barkley each scored twice, and Tammy Abraham netted the final goal.

Despite the commanding performance, Emery played down suggestions that Aston Villa are contenders to win the trophy, emphasizing that more established European giants remain favorites. Emery praised the progression of new additions like Manzambi, Jackson, and Ibrahim Mbaye, while stressing the need for continued defensive improvement as Villa prepares for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Newcastle.
