Daniel Suarez is set to return to Spire Motorsports for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season, leaving one seat open at the team.

Spire Motorsports has confirmed that Daniel Suarez signed a contract extension to drive the No. 7 Chevrolet for the 2027 NASCAR Cup Series season. Suarez secured a playoff spot and won the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in his first year with the team. With Carson Hocevar previously signed to a long-term deal, the announcement leaves only one unresolved seat in the organization's three-car lineup.
Attention now shifts to the No. 71 Chevrolet driven by Michael McDowell, the only Spire driver who missed the playoffs and has not won a race for the team. While writer Asher Fair notes it would be a surprise if the team changes its lineup for 2027, potential free agents include John Hunter Nemechek and Brad Keselowski.
