There is a major theme of the 2026-27 season, and it’s not the comebacks of Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, Jimmy Butler, and Tyrese Haliburton. It’s the apology spree at ESPN. In the pre-holiday spirit of apology, Kendrick Perkins did right…

ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins issued a public apology on NBA Today to Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, admitting he misjudged the All-Star after previously labeling him overrated. Perkins retracted his previous stance following comments made by LeBron James, calling Haliburton an elite leader and one of the premier franchise stars in the NBA alongside Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson.
Haliburton previously led the Pacers to the 2025 NBA Finals before suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon that sidelined him for the entire 2025-26 season. Now healthy for the 2026-27 campaign, Haliburton recently returned to action, scoring 24 points in 18 minutes during an overtime loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
