Derby County defender Sondre Langas is ruled out until the new year after suffering a groin injury in Wednesday's defeat at QPR.

Derby County defender Sondre Langas has been ruled out until at least mid-January after sustaining a groin injury on Wednesday. The 25-year-old Norway international limped off just 12 minutes into the Rams' 4-1 Championship defeat against Queens Park Rangers. Scans and a consultation with a surgeon confirmed the layoff, meaning Langas could miss up to 15 matches.
The setback adds to a severe defensive crisis for Derby manager John Eustace, whose squad currently sits in the relegation places. Langas, who started all 11 opening league and cup fixtures, joins sidelined key defenders Matt Clarke, Craig Forsyth, and Eiran Cashin on the injury list.
