Kylian Mbappé became the youngest player to reach 100 Champions League appearances at age 27 during Real Madrid's 4-3 victory against Roma on Wednesday. The French forward celebrated the milestone by scoring a first-half equalizer at the Stadio Olimpico. The previous record was set by Lionel Messi at age 28, who also accomplished the feat against Roma in September 2015.
Starting at center forward under coach José Mourinho, Mbappé netted his 72nd career Champions League goal to surpass Raúl González for fifth on the competition's all-time scoring list. Mbappé originally debuted in the tournament as a 17-year-old with Monaco in 2016.
