Sir Gareth Southgate has cast doubt on ever returning to management, revealing he has not even visited a football stadium in nearly 18 months.
Former Middlesbrough manager and England boss Sir Gareth Southgate has ruled out returning to club management, specifically dismissing a comeback to the Premier League. Speaking on the Amol Rajan Connection podcast, the 56-year-old revealed that he does not see a scenario where he returns to top-level coaching and noted he has not visited a football ground in nearly 18 months.
Southgate stepped down from managing England following their defeat to Spain in the Euro 2024 final. He explained that he stopped enjoying the role toward the end of his tenure, stating that he is not interested in managing merely for survival or salary and desires a different phase of life.
